He is a criminal, a very well known con artist in the underworld. He was summoned by L to help on the Kira case, being and expert in languages, psychology, and personality transformation. He can adapt himself into all levels of society and can always make a strong bond with any kind of people.
He impersonated Eraldo Coil while investigating the Yotsuba Group to get close to his target.
Aiber was brought here before he died, so he knows nothing about Light being Kira and L's death. He is using the name Eraldo Coil because he doubts that here in Sigil is anyone in knowledge of that alias. And if there is, it's the best way to catch their attention.
Being a confidence man, he can display several personalities as he pleases, but he is usually calm and easy-going. He had a family in his real life, so he can be seen as a very supportive and understanding figure, fatherly like.
